It’s taken me a whole month to write this blog post, and even with that, it’s going to be brief. Watching the world slowly creep back to ‘the before times’ has been a huge, positive distraction in recent weeks. In a month celebrating the achievements of women, I have been reminded of how far we’ve come, how far we have to go, and what we need to do to get there. I’ve also been awed by gratitude at the women who leading the nation’s (and the world’s) recovery from the pandemic.
This month has inspired a bit of a movement at burkeMICHAEL+. At a time when women’s history and issues are at the forefront, I am more aware than ever that our answers lie, in part, in building community. As contract interiors professionals, we find ourselves ‘inside’ so many businesses in our city. Our reach is deep and wide. So, we’re thinking of ways burkeMICHAEL+ can help women in business connect, learn and evolve together.
But what does that look like? How can we support women in business in Pittsburgh? How do we create space for each other in meaningful ways?
We start by asking questions, that’s how.
Our first step was to build a survey, and invite responses. If you are a woman in business, we want to hear from you. We want to know what you’re working on, thinking about, and wishing for, right now. We know what our list looks like; what’s on yours?
It’s a very simple Google survey: just click here to access. Thank you in advance for your response. We’re excited to learn more about you.
See? Brief.
